Dilip Niroj runs his shop on a busy street in the Mitra Park area of Kathmandu.   When I first met him, he refused to paint any type of dogs but Dobermans and German Shepherds.   No fluffy dogs for him!   He did paint a very nice black lab though.   But the second time I came to place an order, he mentioned the exhibition held in November 2007 of the signboards, and his very nice artwork got even better!   I made sure to give him ‘dog’s dogs’,  giving him the commission for the Restaurant Flake in Venice, California.   Flake’s owner needed a signboard for the water bowl for dogs outside her restaurant.  Hence “Dog Bar”.

Last November, 2008, I finally gave him a cat.   When I went to pick up, all were done and the cat was barely started.   But he did a fine job with that cat.    In fact, the owner bought that cat!
