Sabala of Surya Studios in Kathmandu calls himself “the elephant of artists -- all others are horses”.   He is 48 years old, from India and used to paint those magnificent huge canvas paintings outside movie palaces before they started mass-producing them.  Now he’s losing work to computer-generated signs in Nepal.   When I go to pick up these signs at the Surya Studio, a large crowd gathers to marvel at his artistry.
